Screen freezes and beeping while playing wii?

I was in the middle of playing my project runway game, and all of a sudden the screen froze and it started beeping. This has happened before, with the same game. When it happens I’m not able to turn it off or reset. The last time it happened it just suddenly started working again, but it took a while. Does anyone know what’s happening and what I can do to fix it?
